Meet the artist
Lamia grew up in an artistic family, where she inherited the love and passion for art from her father and siblings. She has practiced it since her early childhood, and then honed her talent through study, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad.
She became a professional in painting, sculpture, and handicrafts, and won first place in a competition held across the Netherlands in 2006. The award ceremony was held at the Limburg Provincial Building, where she received the prize from a member of Parliament.
In 2007, Lamia had the honor of having one of her works acquired by the Valkenburg Museum. She has held many solo exhibitions in various cities in the Netherlands, where she has lived since 1998, and has participated in group exhibitions.
Her works are present in several countries. She believes in the freedom of women and animals, a theme reflected in her works, where she blends realism, expressionism, and symbolism in colorful paintings that reflect ideas and aspirations. She has a permanent exhibition in an old building in the historic city of Canterbury. Art is the most important part of her life, alongside writing poetry and novels.
